SLC5A9 and systemic lupus erythematosus: In contrast, the SLC5A9 nsSNV (p.G103R) (rs61746559) segregated with SLE in both families, was not common in our dataset and Nordic controls and was predicted to be damaging by several of the algorithms (Table S3), but it shows very high allele frequency in non-European populations (20% in Asians, 26% in Southern Han Chinese −1000 Genomes), which is against a gene-disrupting effect.
