As expected, the majority (~60%) of IFN-γ+ CD4+ T-cells responding to ESAT-6/CFP-10 in patients with active TB disease lacked surface expression of CD45RA and CCR7, compatible with a TEM phenotype, while 10–28% of IFN-γ+ CD4+ T-cells expressed CCR7 but not CD45RA, consistent with a TCM phenotype. Here, CCR7 is linked to tuberculosis.
