In patients with idiopathic PAH, elevated plasma levels of chemokines CXCL10, CXCL12, and CXCL16 correlated negatively with echocardiographic parameters of RV function such as tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE) and RV ejection fraction (Yang et al., 2014). The gene discussed is CXCL10; the disease is pulmonary arterial hypertension.
