After simvastatin treatment, the translocation of p47 phox and expression of gp91 phox was decreased in SH-SY5Y cells and PD mice, which suggests that simvastatin may down-regulate the activity of NADPH oxidase in the PD model, and reduce the formation of oxidative stress factor, to protect against the development of PD. Here, FMO5 is linked to Parkinson disease.
