Studies of lesions of patients with borderline leprosy have revealed strong correlations between TGF-β and NGF, and TGF-β and NGF-R (r = 0.8722 and r = 0.7257, respectively), with highly significant p-values for the two correlations (p < 0.0001 and p = 0.0015, respectively) (48, 49). Here, TGFB1 is linked to borderline leprosy.
