MICA and cytomegalovirus infection: Taking the longitudinal course into consideration, the results of Kaplan–Meier curve analysis combined with those of the log-rank test (Figure 1A) indicated that during the first year after KTx the probability of CMV infection/disease was significantly higher among patients receiving a donor kidney graft negative for MICA rs2596538 G allele variant (i.e., AA homozygous), compared to allografts positive for G allele variant (p = 0.004; OR = 0.3; 95% CI 0.08–1.0).
