Concerning the primary combined endpoint, multivariate Cox proportional hazard analysis with adjustment for age, gender, LVEF, type of ACS or stable CAD, cardiovascular risk factors such as hypertension, hyperlipoproteinemia, smoking or diabetes, as well as medication (ACE-inhibitors, beta-blockers, statins, and antiplatelet therapy) revealed a significant difference between major and homozygous minor allele carriers of PEAR1 rs2768759 (p = 0.006; Wald test) as shown in Figure 2 and Table 4.
