Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) showed that PEAR1 gene variants are associated with greater platelet aggregability (Herrera-Galeano et al., 2008; Johnson et al., 2010; Faraday et al., 2011) and it has been reported, that SNPs in PEAR1 are associated with an increased risk of myocardial infarction (Lewis et al., 2013). This evidence concerns the gene PEAR1 and myocardial infarction.
