From our results, if such interaction is just because of the need for proper protein folding and KIAA0100 was not in the same survival pathway with HSPA1A, it might not be expected that silencing the expression of KIAA0100 could result in such strong effect in sensitizing cancer cells to anoikis, a mechanism known to be inhibited by HSP proteins. The gene discussed is BLTP2; the disease is cancer.
