BLTP2 and cancer: Figure 4A shows MDA-MB-231 cells that were able to penetrate the BME barrier in mock control and negative siRNA transfected cells were at a similar level without significant difference (p > 0.05). In contrast, silencing the expression of KIAA0100 significantly reduced the number of cells that were able to migrate across the BME barrier, at times by more than 80%, in comparison to the control cells (p < 0.05), indicating that the capability of re-anchoring and invading/migrating across the ECM matrix in the KIAA0100 silenced MDA-MB-231 cancer cells in suspension was significantly reduced.
