IL10 and infection: To test the hypothesis that thrombi contribute to the fatal neurological phenotype of IL-10 KO mice infected with P. chabaudi, we treated infected IL-10 KO mice with the anticoagulant drug, enoxaparin sodium, a low-molecular weight heparin (LMWH), starting on day 4 post-infection through to the end of peak illness at day 12 post-infection, when all control animals had died.
