An increasing amount of evidence suggests that EMT is closely related to angiogenesis [23–25]; angiogenesis is promoted by EMT-induced VEGFA in human breast tumors [16] and is enhanced by the EMT-mediated increase in the secretion of factors known to enhance angiogenesis (e.g., TGF-β, CSF-1, NGF, VGF, ADAM9 and ADAM17) into the extracellular microenvironment [26]. This evidence concerns the gene ADAM9 and breast neoplasm.
