A replication-deficient recombinant adenoviral vector-based antisense-VEGF-cDNA (Ad5CMV-αVEGF) was developed [95] and applied in an in vivo study for exploring the antitumor efficacy against a breast tumor induced by subcutaneous injection of 5 × 106 of human breast cancer cells (MDA251-MB) into the mammary fat pads of athymic female nude mice (4–6 weeks of age). The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is breast cancer.
