Livin expression is limited in most of the normal tissues, but found to be overexpressed in a variety of human malignancies such as colon cancer, gastric cancer, breast carcinomas, melanomas and lung cancer [312,314,315,316]) It plays a significant role in tumor progression, chemo resistance development and anti-apoptotic activity which makes Livin a potential therapeutic target for cancer treatment.
