Since formation of HE and EHT in our system occurs during days 4–5 of differentiation (Choi et al., 2012, Uenishi et al., 2014), i.e., when we see the most dramatic effect of DOX treatment, we concluded that GATA2 may be important for HE formation or EHT. Here, GATA2 is linked to hereditary elliptocytosis.
