RUNX1 and hereditary elliptocytosis: As determined by RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) analysis, the aforementioned pattern of marker distribution in iG2+/+ and iG2−/− HE and non-HE was similar, i.e., higher expression of RHAG, GFI1, RUNX1, NTS, and BMPER genes in HE, while higher expression of SOX17, COL15A1, CAV1, SCG5, and EMCN was found in non-HE (Figure 4I; Table S1), thereby confirming that the VEC+CD43−CD73– and VEC+CD43−CD73+ phenotypes in iG2−/− cells reliably separate HE from non-HE.
