We believe our method using two different types of cancer is suitable for isolation of p53-signaling genes for the following two reasons: 1) to a considerable extent, p53 signaling is common between osteosarcoma and colorectal cancer [40,42]; and 2) using different types of cancer may generally reduce the screening biases generated by a specific single cancer cell type. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is osteosarcoma.
