Punt et al. [28] analyzed immunohistochemistry combined with clinical data of 155 patients (including 41 relapses and 30 deaths) and found that, as an independent predictor, strong Gal-1 expression was closely related to invasion and metastasis in cervical cancer and an independent predictor for poor survival and a likelihood of receiving postoperative radiotherapy. This evidence concerns the gene LGALS1 and cervical carcinoma.
