The rapid resolution of macular edema by the planned foveal detachment technique was noticed to be more in surgically naïve DME patients (group1) measuring 239 μm at the final follow-up visit than in group 2 eyes, subjected previously to both anti-VEGF and conventional vitrectomy, reaching 170.8 μm at the final follow-up visit. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is macular retinal edema.
