Proviral Integration site for Maloney murine leukemia virus kinases, or PIM kinases (PIM1, PIM2, PIM3) are a family of serine/threonine kinases that promote tumorigenesis in a variety of cancers including leukemia, lymphoma, prostate, gastric, colorectal and hepatocellular carcinoma [4–10] through downstream proteins associated with the cell cycle [11–14], migration [8], and apoptosis [15]. This evidence concerns the gene PIM3 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
