In an article about the suppressor of cytokine signaling (SOCS) family and cervical cancer, Kim et al. found that DNA methylation contributed to SOCS1 downregulation, and histone deacetylation may be the mechanism of SOCS1 and SOCS3 regulation; in the meantime, ectopic expression of SOCS1 or SOCS3 could induce radioresistance of HeLa cells [98]. This evidence concerns the gene SOCS3 and cervical carcinoma.
