TAS correlated positively with serum albumin concentration in the control group (r = 0.34, p < 0.000001), while in the RA group, a significant correlation (r = 0.23, p = 0.027) was found only in subjects with an albumin level equal to, or over, the median value (3.93 g/dL). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and rheumatoid arthritis.
