Since nearly 60% of patients in our series showed an increase in IL-8 level (greatly higher than the percentage of elevated IgE, eosinophils, TNF-α, or IL-6) and AUC of IL-8 increase was even higher than that of FeNO, IL-8 elevation could be considered a valuable biomarker for accurate identification of uncontrolled asthma with confirmed sensitivity and specialty. The gene discussed is IGHE; the disease is asthma.
