IGHE and allergic disease: A downside to the Th1 immune response is that it is often considered to be the more destructive response of the two; hence, when overreactive, it may lead to organ-specific autoimmune diseases, in this case, RA in the joints [5], whereas a negative side of the Th2 pathway is that it is regarded to be an underlying allergy and related immunoglobulin E- (IgE-) based disease and predisposing to systemic autoimmune diseases, for instance, allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis and asthma.
