Having demonstrated that the inhibition of hedgehog signaling could prevent the development of BLM-induced pulmonary fibrosis in vivo, we next used GANT58 to investigate whether inhibiting hedgehog signaling was sufficient to suppress TGF-β1-induced myofibroblast differentiation of LR-MSCs in vitro. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and pulmonary fibrosis.
