Interestingly, Phf2 mice were also protected from the development of insulin resistance in liver, WAT, and skeletal muscle upon HFHSD feeding compared to GFP mice, suggesting that the overall improvement of their insulin sensitivity results from sustain activation of the PI3K/Akt signaling in these tissues (Fig. 8a and Supplementary Fig. 9b).
