Our study revealed that there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the percentage of CD38- and CD138-expressing plasma cells in bone marrow and FDG uptake of bone marrow (p=0.030 and p=0.008). This result suggests that increased FDG uptake of bone marrow is connected to the percentage of plasma cell infiltration of bone marrow in patients with MM. This evidence concerns the gene CD38 and Miyoshi myopathy.
