Rapamycin-insensitive companion of mTOR (Rictor) is a component of mTORC2, it is downregulated by CPPD in ovarian cancer cells and its knockdown in chemo-resistant cell lines sensitizes the cells to apoptosis dependent on p53 status, showing that mTOR pathway may be important in resistance to cisplatin [399]. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and ovarian cancer.
