The immunological changes in MS/EAE are characterized by increasing proinflammatory cell infiltration, followed by CD4+ T cells with the Th1 or Th17 phenotypes, monocytes, macrophages, inflammatory dendritic cells, and B cells, and decreasing in CD8+ T cells, CD4+ CD25+ Forkhead box 3 (FoxP3+) Treg cells, and impaired Treg function [84, 87–90].
