Following the idea of the mechanism proposed in HER2-expressing breast cancer cells (Figure 5 and Supplementary Figure 6), we found that cells were resistant to the treatment with Th1 cytokines for five minutes but knocking down the oncodrivers EGFR and HER3 with siRNA induced Stat1 serine phosphorylation as well as p38MAPK, in concordance with the senescent and apoptotic phenotype (Figure 10C). The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is breast cancer.
