Given the recent literature suggesting a role for ATRX in the pathogenesis and prognostication for GBM [14] and other gliomas, [11, 15] including NF1-related gliomas [16], our recent publication demonstrating ATRX mutations in 2/7 MPNSTs sequenced [7], and the reported correlation between ATRX immunostaining and mutational status [15, 17, 18], we explored whether or not ATRX expression was altered in a large subset of MPNSTs. Here, NF1 is linked to central nervous system cancer.
