Given the recent data suggesting a role for ATRX in the pathogenesis and prognostication of GBM [14] and other gliomas, [11, 15] including NF1-related gliomas [16], and our recent data demonstrating ATRX mutations in 2/7 MPNSTs sequenced cases [7], we sought to determine whether or not ATRX expression was altered in a larger subset of MPNSTs. This evidence concerns the gene ATRX and central nervous system cancer.
