(2012) found that fungal burden and S100A8/S100A9 alarmin-mediated neutrophil recruitment was normal in Il23p19-/-, Il17ra-/- and Il22-/- mice in a mouse vaginal infection model suggesting that the vaginal alarmin S100 response is independent of the IL-23/Th17 axis [111].
