Therefore, our data provide a mechanistic link between inflammatory diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease (Liu & Lenardo, 2012; Rocha et al, 2015), infectious diseases like leprosy (Zhang et al, 2009; Wang et al, 2015; Fava et al, 2016) and tuberculosis (Wang et al, 2018) to LRRK2 function. This evidence concerns the gene LRRK2 and infectious disease.
