It is reported that, in a Chinese population, the rs1883832 C/T polymorphism was associated with susceptibility to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and individuals carrying the CD40 rs1883832 T variant allele tend to have increased sCD40L levels compared to the homozygous wild-type genotype in SLE patients [27]. This evidence concerns the gene CD40 and systemic lupus erythematosus.
