In particular, the first approach revealed that the selected miRNAs modulate the expression levels of key genes known to be involved in the colorectal cancer pathways indicated by the TCGA Network and in the development of CRC, such as AKT family, BCL2, Cyclin family (CCND1, CCND2, CCND3, etc), Cyclin-dependent kinase family (CDK4 and CDK6), EGFR, MAPK family, TP53, VEGFA, PIK3 family, etc [55–57]. This evidence concerns the gene CCND2 and colorectal cancer.
