CRP and limb ischemia: At the time of onset of limb ischemia (day 6 of hospitalization), blood testing showed: hemoglobin, 75 g/L; white cell count, 12.7 × 109/L; C-reactive protein (CRP), 169.7 mg/l (reference range, < 10); erythrocyte sedimentation rate, 61 mm (reference range, 0–22); prothrombin time, 11.6 (reference range, 11.5–15.5 seconds); international normalized ratio (INR), 1.11 (reference range, < 1.4); and activated partial thromboplastin time, 43.3 seconds (reference range, 30–40 seconds).
