To examine the spatiotemporal sequence of systemic DCs in lymphedema, we performed adoptive transfer of CD45.1+CD11c+ cells to CD45.2+ CD4KO and WT mice that had undergone PLND or sham surgery and compared the activation status of these cells (as indicated by CD86 expression) in the ipsilateral inguinal lymph nodes and hindlimb skin 6 and 24 h later (Fig. 5a). The gene discussed is CD86; the disease is lymphedema.
