To confirm that CD4+ T cells rather than non-conventional T cells are required for lymphedema, we treated WT mice that had undergone tail skin and lymphatic excision with either a monoclonal neutralizing antibody to NK1.1 (a glycoprotein that has a role in natural killer and natural killer T [NKT] cell activation and differentiation8) or isotype control (Supplementary Figs. 1, 2a). The gene discussed is CD4; the disease is lymphedema.
