INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Those with emotional distress were significantly more likely to be female (p < 0.0001), have high income (p = 0.019), unemployed (p < 0.0001), insulin and oral hypoglycemic drug users (p = 0.006), have any diabetic complications (p < 0.0001), have retinopathy (p < 0.0001), have neuropathy (p < 0.0001), have dyslipidemia (p = 0.002), have hypertension (p = 0.028), have a T2D family history (p < 0.0001), have a history of severe hypoglycemia (p = 0.04), and have previous T2D-related hospital admissions (p < 0.0001).
