We conclude that the water channel AQP1 is a suitable target for the control of thrombotic events and, that when available, clinically safe and effective AQP1 inhibitors may represent a novel class of antiprocoagulant antithrombotics for the management of arterial thrombotic disease, including acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, and stroke. This evidence concerns the gene AQP1 and coronary artery disorder.
