Indigenous participants were younger at entry (median age 63.3 [54.7–67.8] vs 69.6 [63.3–75.4], p = 0.005), were more likely to be current smokers (56.3% vs 31.4%, p = 0.041) and have insulin-treated diabetes (18.8% vs 5.2%, p = 0.022). Here, INS is linked to diabetes mellitus.
