Table 1 shows comparison of baseline characteristics between male and female HD patients. The mean BMI was not significantly different (22.6 ± 3.0 kg/m2 in men and 22.6 ± 3.6 kg/m2 in women). However, there were significant differences in comorbidities including congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, chronic lung disease, moderate to severe liver disease, smoking, laboratory data including CRP, serum creatinine, total cholesterol, triglyceride, and LDL between genders (Table 1). Here, CRP is linked to congestive heart failure.
