A high-throughput screening identified a thiazole antibiotics Syomycin A as a potent FoxM1 inhibitor [44] and thiostrepton, a similar type of thiazole antibiotics, has been shown to inhibit FoxM1 transcriptional activity by direct binding to FoxM1 in several human cancer cells including HCC cells [45]. The gene discussed is FOXM1; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
