To ascertain the immunoendocrine alterations during TB, we initially studied the circulating levels of cytokines and hormones such as IFN-γ, IL-10, IL-6, cortisol, DHEA, GH in male TB patients with different degrees of lung involvement and free from endocrine disorders, or treatment with corticosteroids or immunomodulatory drugs. This evidence concerns the gene GH1 and tuberculosis.
