INS and Hypoglycemia: These newer marketed basal insulins, insulin degludec and insulin glargine 300 units/mL, are non-inferior to IGlar in terms of efficacy and in certain subpopulations may provide some advantages over IGlar, such as reduced nocturnal hypoglycemia, as shown in some insulin degludec 100 units/mL studies [8–10] and in insulin glargine 300 units/mL studies of participants already receiving high-dose basal insulin [11, 12].
