Polymorphisms in genes encoding specific cyto- or chemokines, such as interleukin (IL)-1, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IL-17, TNF-α, TGF-β, and IFN-γ, have been associated with ITP (33–37). This evidence concerns the gene IL2 and autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura.
