VEGFA and choroidal neovascularization: Significant visual gains can be achieved in AMD patients with choroidal neovascularization (CNV) with long-term intraocular injection of numerous anti-VEGF agents.1,2,3,4,6 However, there is debate in the literature regarding whether the geographic atrophy seen during long-term follow-up in these patients, who had received many anti-VEGF injections at high frequency, was a result of the natural course of the disease or was associated with the anti-VEGF molecules used.
