Although early stage prostate cancer does not express GR, upregulation of GR in castration resistant prostate cancer was recently identified as mechanism of resistance to the antiandrogen enzalutamide (Xtandi) [8–10], as GR can transcriptionally activate direct androgen receptor (AR) target genes, but enzalutamide cannot bind and inactivate GR. Here, NR3C1 is linked to prostate cancer.
