An ethanol extract of hawk tea, used as a folk medicine to prevent and treat gastrosis, hepatitis and some other inflammatory diseases, exhibits a protective activity against UV-B-induced oxidative stress in HaCaT keratinocytes through the inhibition of lipid peroxidation, reduction of ROS levels and stimulation of antioxidant enzymes activities, such as catalase, SOD and GSH peroxidase (34).
