Sorafenib is an inhibitor of a variety of tyrosine kinase receptors used to treat hepatocellular carcinoma, renal cell carcinoma and thyroid carcinoma 11 and was developed primarily as a Raf inhibitor blocking the mitogen‐activated protein kinase/extracellular signal‐regulated kinase (ERK) pathway.
