Based on a miRNA profiling study that identified the miR-17 and miR-181 family members as the most downregulated miRNAs during neutrophil differentiation of NB4 APL cells [52], and our study identifying ULK1 as a novel target of the miR-17 family member miR-106a in lung cancer therapy [53], we hypothesized that this miRNA also targets ULK1 in AML. Here, ULK1 is linked to acute promyelocytic leukemia.
