As part of a meta-analysis examining CRP titres in schizophrenia performed by Fernandes and colleagues [67], meta-regression of effect size for CRP changes on PANSS-positive scores demonstrated that the greater the severity of positive symptoms, the greater the increase in CRP (r = 0.12; 95% CI: 0.03–0.23; P = 0.013). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is schizophrenia.
