Among the genes identified by the conditional analysis, namely CHMP1A, FANCA, SPIRE2, DEF8, AFG3L1P, DBNDD1 and PRDM7, DBNDD1 has been previously associated with tanning ability5, while mutations in the FANCA gene are responsible for Fanconi anaemia, a disease characterised by short stature, bone marrow failure and increased risk of multiple cancers. The gene discussed is AFG3L1P; the disease is Bone marrow hypocellularity.
