Regarding the higher fecal fat excretion, several protein-mediated (e.g., CD36 and FATP4) and simple-passive diffusion mechanisms used for the intestinal absorption of lipids have been reported, both of which function in a dose-dependent manner in a way that the intake of HF or HFS diets could have induced a “saturation” phenomenon [38].
