The interplay of signals that regulate the nonautonomous responses between hemocytes and the cells of the FB is coming up as a new field for important studies; indeed recently hemocytes have been shown to be responsible of mediating an humoral immune response in a model for tumor growth, where they were shown to trigger signals responsible of killing the tumor cells through a nonautonomous mechanism mediated by the activation of cytokines of the Toll and Eiger/TNFα by the fat body [34]. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and neoplasm.
